Is the Wolf of Ash and Fire short story really set before all The Primarchs novellas and shorts? If so, other than The Last Church, is it the only one to do so? In the meantime, if any of you geniuses could chip in to help with any of the following questions then I'd be most grateful: It's a work in progress and hopefully, one day, a useful shared resource. I've put all that into a Google Sheet here: I've then colour-coded it, and added The Primarchs sub-series (yes I'm a completist) and updated the main series with recently-published short stories and a few missing ones that I've discovered. I've started with JIDF-Shill's superb and side-barred labour-of-love list found here: That means breaking up the anthology stories, and uncollected shorts, and putting them into their rightful place in the reading order.

I understand the merits of reading in publication order, but chronological is the way for me. Having dipped in here and there, I've now committed to reading the entire Horus Heresy series - in chronological order.
